I have worked in industry over 28 years in the areas of casting, manufacturing of ultra-high vacuum and pressurized valves, piping systems and pressure vessels for cryogenic applications for superconducting devices, semiconductor manufacturing and military and aerospace applications. Implemented ISO 9000 quality systems and wrote and certified welding procedures and welders to the USA and International. CodeWork experiences also included the design of clean room facilities in the USA and China. Extensive experience in performing in-depth failure analysis that lead to product improvement by solving problems related to getter applications, hermetic seals, cold weld metal seals and demountable metal to metal seals.

I truly enjoy teaching at Cal Poly because of the courses and the academic challenges the students present to me, and the chance to help them grow into better engineers. I have found that sharing my technical and work experience, as it is related to the class material, motivates and helps the students understand the concepts being taught and prepares them to move from school to the world of work when they graduate.
